UX — Wireframing & Documentation
Cloudborn is a community-driven fantasy RPG with an ever-changing game world. A great deal of focus has been given to the UI and UX in order to give players all the information they need to successfully plan strategic battles while not overwhelming them with too much at once.
Prototypes
For some of the game’s mechanics, quick prototypes in Unity were assembled in order to validate it with the team.
UI Design
The UI design started with establishing a look that would complement the game’s world but not take away from the ease of finding the information required. So, a simple yet decorative UI style was agreed upon with the Art Director. After that, it was just a matter of applying it to the wireframes!
Final Touches
In order to wrap everything up into an enjoyable experience, the use of UI animations and effects was paramount!
Trailer
Beyond my usual tasks, I also helped produce the game’s Official Trailer by recording some of the shots and managing communication between the people involved.
